Nuggs went to the vet this morning to get her tubes tied. Next door neighbor Mark sent a driver around from his company to pick me up and take us to the vet. (Remember? I'm in Saudi and can't drive!)
Mohammed arrived promptly and rang the doorbell at 9:00 am. Before she had a chance to make a run for the border, I snatched up Nuggs and put her in the box I had ready with a towel in it. She likes enclosed spaces so she went in without a meow and was actually quiet the whole drive.
We drove into downtown Al-Khobar and found Green Crown Vet at 21st and Nawaf street, across from the Pakistani school, pursuant to the directions Dr. Carlito had given Mohammed. It was probably a 15 minute drive from our compound.
I filled out the paperwork with "Nugget" as her given name, type - Feline, breed hmmm, crazy?
So, Doc said she'd need to recover from her spaying for one to two weeks(?)Might need to google that, but he'll also give her her shots. 300 SR (about $75 USD) and pick her up after 5:00pm today.
So, hence the needing a St. Francis of Assissi candle. He's the patron saint of animals. I'll be worried about her also when we leave the Big Sandboxx on the 8th of August. How does it happen we get emotionally invested so quickly in animals?
Getting her a passport (export pass) will be the next step. I told Mark she's getting an American one, not British, with a little photo of herself and a paw print. Wouldn't that be cute?
Why does she need a passport? Hint - she might need to learn to meow in Scottish...
