Growing old doesn't come with any handbooks, or any advice that doesn't sound trite.
I've decided rather than try to look, or act, younger, I will try something novel - to not act older. In my case, it means don't act older than a half of a century.
What does that mean? I don't know. Continue to wear a bikini if I want to? Wear bright neon orange Adidas running shoes cos they are totally bitchin' and they make me happy just looking at them? Sure, why not? Things I won't do (or at least, try not to)I won't talk about my ailments - thyroid condition, wrinkles and gray hairs.
And in regard to other people, if they wanna talk about you, they are going to find something to talk about: your age, your lack of acting your age, your husband being 10 years younger than you, being a single mom, whatever. Not my first being gossiped about "rodeo".
