I heart Ippolita

Whoever said that before you step out the door, you should take off item of your ensemble in order to keep your look understated obviously never wore Ippolita jewelry. Put on just on a pair of Ippolita's earrings, or a ring and voila! Simple, confident yet chic.

Ippolita jewelry is deceptively simplistic looking at first glance, but hold that gaze just a little longer and you'll discover that their designs are anything but.

I found Ippolita about a year ago and it appealed to me because it's jewelry you can wear anywhere with anything and it will add a quelque chose en plus ("something extra")to anything you put on.

Understated elegance is something hard to define, but you know it when you see it. It isn't crass and never shouts, "Please, look at me!". Ippolita's pieces are eye-catching and refined.

Crass is the Southern sorority girl who interns in Manhattan for the first time and wears her three David Yurman bracelets every time she walks out the door whether it's to the office or to yoga in the park.

Don't get me wrong, I love my Yurman jewelry, but just like you don't walk out the door in head-to-toe labels, you don't wear every nice piece of jewelry you own everyday.

You never want to appear naive, or insecure, about your fashion sense of direction, or who you truly are underneath it all. True confidence is never confused with crass.

Ippolita's pieces ups the elegance ante and all you need is one simple piece to add the wow factor to your look, but here's the diff - you can wear several without looking like you're trying too hard.

This is the jewelry being worn by that elegant woman who catches your eye. She's in a crisp white tailored blouse, jeans that fit perfectly, manicured nails and a purse that is designer, but isn't blasting out which one. Look a little closer and she's probably wearing at least one Ippolita piece.

Their price range runs the gamut from the jewelry starter kit to the professional collector with such items as the petit Rose Gold earrings at $225 to 14k Gold Gladiator Cuff at $19,000.
